January 18, 2026: Kiranti Khambu Rai Sanskritik Sansthan (KKRSS) has celebrated the Kiranti New Year, Yeledong 5086, as the new year of the Khambu Rai community. As usual, KKRSS has celebrated its New Year at the premises of Jamuni Park. KKRSS has a separate committee to celebrate the Khambu Rai New Year, the Yeledong committee, which organizes this New Year festivity. This year, members from Bijanbari block, Takhvar valley, and Darjeeling town participated in the event. Mangpa Ganesh Rai performed the rituals at the ceremony and blessed the Khambu Rai members present at the event. Shri Madan Thulung highlighted the importance of Yeledong, and General Secretary of KKRSS Shri Udhyan Chamling assured such an event every year for the awareness of the coming generation of the Khambu Rai community. Shri K. B. Water and distinguished members of KKRSS were present during the occasion.
