January 15, 2024: Kirati New Year or Yeledong has been celebrated by the Kiranti Khambu Rai Sanskritik Sasthan for the last three years consecutively. This year KKRSS has formed the “Yeledong Samiti” to celebrate the Kirati New Year or Yeledong. The Sakhas of KKRSS from Bijanbari block, Tukvar Valley are involved in the Yeledong Samiti. KKRSS this year Yeledong 4084 celebrated at the Singla river, headed by the Mangma Sobha Rai, she performed the Yasawa-Dosawa (Gali-Sarab bagaunu) at the river of Singla for all the Khambus present there. Over 500 members of KKRSS from Bijanbari, Rimbik, Chungthung, Darjeeling town, Tukvar valley and Lebong Valley were present.
